Neil Young – Barstool Blues (ZUMA)

BARSTOOL BLUES If I could hold on to just one thought For long enough to know Why my mind is moving so fast And the conversation is slow. Burn off all the fog And let the sun through to the snow Let me see your face again Before I have to go. I have seen you in the movies And in those magazines at night I saw you on the barstool when You held that glass so tight. And I saw you in my nightmares But I’ll see you in my dreams And I might live a thousand years Before I know what that means. Once there was a friend of mine Who died a thousand deaths His life was filled with parasites And countless idle threats. He trusted in a woman And on her he made his bets Once there was a friend of mine Who died a thousand deaths.

@wingedeathnoisewave Neil is in the hall three times, first time with Buffalo Springfield, once with Crosby, Stills, and Nash, and solo.

the beegees are REALLLY good, but still, neil young is another level. such a unique talent! they should put him in the hall of fame twice!

  • wingedeathnoisewave:

@celloprofundo neil young’s one of the greatest of all time, but youre dead wrong about the beegees… they had their first hit in the us and uk in ’67, with “New York Mining Disaster 1941″… 10 years before saturday night fever. opinions of disco aside, in their early years, they wrote melodies that could challenge just about any british invasion band of that time period!!

  • mirandabone:

One of the best songs ever.

  • celloprofundo:

BeeGee’s had five years, and one year was disco so it doesn’t count, you’ll notice there is no DISCO Ball, I mean Hall, of Fame…I hope….arrgh, shudder, brrrr ; )

  • Choefoe:

Can,t help it, have to tease you ;-) xxx

  • Choefoe:

BeeGees had 5 decades Arf ;-)

  • celloprofundo:

Neil in his prime..and he’s had a longer prime than just about anybody you can think of..only the Stones compare, I think..from the 60′s through the 80′s.

both Cracker and Sparklehorse (Mark Linkous) have done songs with almost identical melodies/changes and similar lyrics…high praise

hahaah two years, that musta been a bitch. If you ever have trouble finding music or a right version of something on youtube I generally check myspace music they’ll probably have it unless it’s a local or new band.

  • TheMundaneman:

Neil, you are brilliant. You made me believe again…this song hits where it hurts…awesome!

  • brianchylinski:

FUCK YES! It’s about time somebody posted the studio version of this song. I have been waiting for someone to post this for, literally, two years. Great job! This song has gotten me through a lot of tough time. Thanks, man.
